As discussed in previous articles, the inventor of Pilates is actually a guy—Joseph Pilates. The inventor of the exercise program that millions of Americans are now becoming hooked often stressed that if one were to practice Pilates regularly, “In 10 days you will see a difference, in 20 days you will feel a difference and in 30 days, you will have a whole new body.” Author (and fitness buff) Caroline Shannon of our partner site Her Active Life describes the meaning of something that Joseph Pilates called ”crontology,” the basics of patience and persistence. Shannon describes that there are two basic elements of Pilates: 1) finding your “neutral pelvis” and 2) active breathing.
