In the two studies done, rats were given either surgery or drugs that raise the risk of heart failure. Curcumin was given to some of the rats afterward. The results of both experiments show that the rats given the curcumin showed more resistance to heart failure or inflammation than the ones who were not given the spice. As far as a reversal for heart inflammation, only one of the studies showed that curcumin might stop heart enlargement. Although the results of the experiment are hopeful, there is no proof that curcumin may have the same effect on humans as it does in rats.
