One of the most common excuses people give for not working out is that there is not enough time in a day. There are twenty four hours in a day…in twenty four hours, I am sure you can find time if you try hard enough. The minimum recommended amount of exercise to be performed daily is twenty minutes. If a person has time to come home and watch American Idol for an hour, then they also have twenty minutes to have worked out.
Multi-tasking is the Key The key to finding time to exercise is making the most efficient use of your time. If you have a television show that you absolutely must watch, exercise during the show. Have kids? Exercise with them and incorporate them into your exercise. Kids get a kick out of sitting on your back while doing push ups, or being tossed over your shoulder while you squat them.
Late to Bed, or Early to Rise Another option available is to extend your waking hours. Waking up an hour early should be sufficient to work out for 20 to 30 minutes. If you don’t have time to spare in the morning or just simply are not an early bird, you might consider staying up a tad later at night. Some are hesitant to work out at night, because they believe that working out before bed will actually hinder their sleep, but evidence indicates otherwise.
Working out is a way of life, just as anything else. Once you set in your mind that there are no excuses, you will find a way to fit exercise into your daily routine.
