stair climbingToday I’ll share something with you that athletes have known for years – stairs can provide you with a killer workout. Think back to the rocky movies where Rocky ran the stairs up to the statue. Wrestlers, boxers, kick boxers, football players and people of various other athletic backgrounds have probably all ran up and down bleachers at some point in their careers.

Running stairs is great for building muscle endurance in the quads, glutes and calves and is also good cardio training (think stairmaster). If you live in a multi level house, work in a building with stairs or at least have access to a stair climber, then you can partake of this exercise as well.

Most people think stair climbers intended for home use don’t feel as good or as smooth as the high-quality stair-climbing machines found in gyms.
