Whole body vibration training: can it give you the competitive edge?

Elite athletes around the world constantly scour through the hottest research in sport and exercise science for the latest and greatest training trend for their field. One of the newest topics to surface is whole body vibration (WBV) training.

WBV training is a neuromuscular training method that has been widely used for rehabilitation purposes. Recent studies examined the effects of WBV training for athletes. WBV training is a fairly new concept in the field of health and exercise science.  It was invented by Russian scientists who combined vibration stimulation with resistance training in hopes of enhancing resistance training techniques. 

Conventionally, resistance training is the main method used by athletes to improve neuromuscular performance.

    I’d advise you to try it in addition to your regular routine (because, as I said in the article) there are no guarantees here, and it’s only effective as a supplemental routine. Make sure you ask the trianers how to use it. Let me know if you see any success!

  5. From what i was adviced by my gym instructor it’s healthier to actually do exercises instead using this kind of machines.

  7. With Vibration Training you do not need to be fit to go beyond your normal limits, which are usually restricted by your voluntary fitness levels. If you are willing to suffer you can always go that extra minute which quickly turns into an extra 10.

  8. It can’t be called workout if one doesn’t work out a sweat. I need to feel tired to know that I had a good exercise for that day. Don’t you know the type of fatigue when you feel like smiling even if you can’t stand straight?

  9. Exercise machines can be very expensive, but a great solution is to go to sports club and acquire a membership. That way you can save a lot of money.
