Some people think that hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do in sports. Well, FSN’s new show SportsScience found someone who wanted to put that myth to the test. Jennie Finch, a 6 foot tall Olymphic gold medalist, believes that hitting a softball is harder than hitting a baseball. In this episode, the sport scientists compare the force at which a baseball and a softball hit home plate. Then, they test the pitches against a human subject. Who do you think will win this contest? Guys—what happens in this video is truely shocking.

Yeah, then how come women can hit Jennie Finch? Cause they’re used to it. This is nonsense.

Thank you. I play softball for my high school and all the baseball players and even my friends say that baseball is harder. it gets annoying because softball really is harder.

i also play for my school and i am friends with all the baseball players and they make fun of us if we strike out but when they strike out and we say somethin they say “a baseball is harder to hit then some gay softball” but when we made then hit against our best pitcher not one of them hit a ball in fair field! so we girls set off to prove them wrong and hit against there pitcher and once again the boys were wrong. a softball is harder to hit

yeah that show was nonsense. Real science mixed with armchair science. They never explored the other side. First they used the very best softball pitcher in the world against a college pitcher and a minor league hitter. With that mentality why didn’t they use Johan Santana versus and Alex Rodriguez. So many variable in that experiment were flawed. Try letting a baseball pitcher hurl from 40 feet...yeah.

boys have no idea what they are talking about. in fact im doing a report on this right now and all of the information from physics and science show that softballs are harder to hit. reaction time and the release point of the ball is exactly why it is harder. so mr. rob from NC, the reason why its harder is because we pitch from 40 feet. baseball players and boys in general just cant face the facts.

guys try to hit a raise ball you cant
in baseball the ball drops it doesnt raise.

i have played softball for 3 years and before that i played baseball for 4 years

baseball is like breathing compared to softball
