The Ironman race is one of the most arduous and demanding sporting events known to modern man. It is a triathlon—a grueling event that pushes the limits of endurance as you trek through a 2.4 mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and THEN a 26.2 mile run (marathon). Although thousands of athletes across the globe compete in Ironman events, the many of them simply to just finish the course and become “Iron men.” Preparing for an Ironman race needs to be planned and extensive, particularly if you are not in good training shape at the present. This video from Ironman Jeff Glen goes over some of the “musts” of Ironman preparation and training. Take his advice, plan your workouts, and you could be on your way to become one of the elite. This is Episode 1: The Equipment.
