You can work hard. You can work smart. The important thing is that you do the work. Put in the effort and reap the benefits of your work. When most people lift or workout, they only do about 50-80% of what the COULD do to make themselves stronger and more fit. Don’t overload the weight, but, rather, ask your trainer or a fitness professional about how much you could do to push yourself to the next level.
