The Seven Worst Infomercial Fitness Products

I came across a recent product know as the ”Ultimate Body Press.” Basically, it’s a portable dipping bar. I’m unsure what the price of the product is and don’t really care. When someone told me about the product, I asked them, “Why didn’t you just get two sturdy chairs and do dips?”
This product motivated me to seek out other infomercial fitness products and write about the worst of the lot. Here they are:
7. - Osim iGallop
This machine is basically like having one of those electronic horse-riding machines in the comfort on your own home. The idea is that it works your core by mimicking the movements of horse-back riding. I have not tried the item, but just by looking at the piece of machine I can tell how awkward it would be sitting on that thing. If not awkward, then at least strange. Imagine having your friends walk in while your working out on that thing. Just go do some sit-ups.
6. Ab Lounge
I actually tried this product once. My cousin and I were at sporting goods store playing around with the fitness equipment. I sat on the ab lounge and didn’t feel a thing in my abs. You basically use your legs and arms to pull in the lounge, and it looks like your abs are doing something, but in fact they aren’t doing anything. Once again, eat right, and go do some ab work if you want to be lean.
5. Ab Doer
Another piece of equipment I tried at a sporting goods store. I was actually going to purchase this produce. The idea is that you sit on this chair and rotate your body from side to side, following this aerobic workout while sitting down. I did a few sets of the rotations, and it just felt like I was sitting on a chair and rotating my torso. I heard they came out with a second version of the machine. I wonder if it rotates your torso any better then the first one.
4. Gazelle Freestyle
Tony Little prided himself on getting into three car accidents, then getting back into shape each time. I think that’s just a bad driver. The Gazelle freestyle just feels weird. No one ever wonders how Tony got so big: he lifted weights! If you want to get some “low-impact” cardio, then go out for a walk.
3. Bodyblade
The Bodyblade is like this handle with two adjoining “blades” on either side. The idea is that once you start shaking this thing, inertia wants to take over and keep on going, forcing your use it’s muscles to keep the blades steady. I’m not exactly sure how this thing works, but the product looks ridiculous. It was originally developed for rehab patients in 1991, I believe and they now sell it as a weigh-loss tool for $49 bucks. You can get a gym membership for the same exact price.
2. 6 second abs
Are you joking? There is no possible way you can get a six-pack in six seconds. The device does not have the resistance that it claims it has. It may work for a complete beginner, but once you get passed a certain stage, you’re better off holding a weight plate to your chest and doing sit-ups.
1. Abdominal Slimming Belts
A few years back you saw a huge surge of abdominal belts. These were belts that you placed around your stomach and pressed a button, sending electronic signals to your abs to rotate and work them. Within six months, you’d see a six-pack even if you were the most overweight person on the planet! Here is a review I found on fitnessinfomercialreview.com: “If you have a big belly and want to get a 6 pack? Do cardio and stop eating so much. This isn’t a quick fix.”
I hope this list has made you laugh. Stop watching those late night infomercials and start getting to the gym. Hard work and consistency is all you need to get results.
