We most often think of health and wellness in terms of what we ate for breakfast or whether or not we made it to the gym after work. However, all of our efforts to eat right and exercise can be undermined by polluted drinking water.
Polluted water can cause everything from heavy metal poisoning to deadly E. Coli infections, and even cancer. However, the latest act of “compassionate conservatism” by the Bush administration has been to show compassion to corporations by allowing them to conserve any efforts at reducing pollution; both the administration and the Supreme Court support stripping vital components from the Clean Water Act. In the coming weeks, Congress will be holding hearings regarding the Clean Water Restoration Act. In order to protect the health of 110 million Americans, click here to encourage your Congressperson to support this important legislation.
