Here on the east coast of the U.S., it is anything but summer. I’m beginning to wish I could fast-forward through these cold months and skip right to the sunshine. But I did find a smoothie from Mens Health that is pretty good, and reminded me of the warm months to come. The trick to a good one is to find a good watermelon this time of year. This is a pre-workout treat, packed with some whey protein to help give you those amino acids you need to build your muscle. Check it out.
Recipe:
1⁄4 cup 1% milk
3⁄4 cup ready-to-eat cubed seedless watermelon pieces
1⁄2 cup strawberries
1⁄2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
2 teaspoons vanilla whey-protein powder
3 ice cubes
