A recent article from Express newspaper (an affiliation of the Washington Post), recently featured an article about mens solutions to facial problems. The article says that by your late 20s, collagen, the substance that helps skin maintain its elasticity, begins decreasing by about 1 percent each yeah (especially in areas exposed to the sun). The article gives some of the following tips about how men can take care of their faces:
Dr. Seth Matarasso of the University of California San Francisco reccomends that men use mild soaps that are glycerin-based, nonabrasive and nonirritating (such as Dove, Neutrogena, Purpose and Basis). He also advises using soaps that are allergy tested and fragrance free. Soaps like Irish Spring and Old Spice contain deodarants and intibacterial chemicals that are fine for your body, but bad for your sensitive face.
To help revent acne, he reccomends using alcol-based topical anti-biotics (Cleocin-T and Erycette) or benzol peroxide products available over the counter. Rather than Clearasil, he suggests a light astringent. For acne blemishes, he reccomends Retin-A, a prescription cream containing vitamin A, which also wards off wrinkles. He also reccomends getting into the habit of using sunscreen (especially on your face) on a daily basis.
