beargrylls Bear Grylls is the perfect combination of looks and athleticism. He’s climbed Everest, spent nights alone in the jungle and has served in the British Special Air Forces. And now you can find him in the wild… in the comfort of your own living room.

Bear is the star of the Discovery Channel’s new show, Man Vs. Wild. He’s the perfect definition of an adventurer. He’s voluntarily dropped off in the middle of nowhere, and teaches the viewers how to survive in the wild. He knows where to find creepy crawlies to eat, he teaches us how to take shelter, and find our way home.

Bear is also very funny. He has great comments, funny facial expressions, and sometimes suffers from occasional diarrhea due to eating the wrong foods.

Only one thing I find wrong with the show. If this guy really spend his nights in the wild, what does his camera crew do? Do they pitch a tent right near him? How fair is that?

I wonder what happens when the cameras are turned off… My guess is he pitches a tent, puts on some dry clothes, and has a good nights rest for the next day’s filming.

Regardless, Bear’s got some great knowledge, as well as some impressive experience (when the cameras were not rolling). So the premise of the show is outstanding. You should check it out.

Bear Grylls is good at survival skills.  But he has turned his show into an entertainment of animal cruety.  He shows you how to kill any animal in front of you with no respect for nature when he could have just explained how to do it without sacrifice a living thing.  He is sick and stupid.  I turn away my tv everytime he started killing.  I am sure a lot of kids learn from him how to kill for fun in the woods.  He is in no way any comparison to the survival man, who is much more humane when explaining about killing animal for food.  I wish Discovery will take a note of this comment and advise him not to show any of actual killings.
