This article is part 6 of my series on dumbbell exercises every guy should deem worthy. Today’s exercise will work your quads, hamstrings, glutes and lower back. (not bad, right?)
Dumbbell Squat – Legs
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and toes pointed slightly outward. Keeping the weights at your side, lower yourself to the ground until your thighs are parallel with the floor and your knees in line with your toes. With back arched and head up, raise yourself back into starting position without locking your knees. Continue to repeat the motion until your muscles just can’t go.
Keeping proper form is essential for any exercise, but especially the squat, where injury is right around the corner. Avoid using jerky motions or momentum. If you feel more comfortable, the motion can be performed with a barbell.
