hammer curlThis article is Part 2 of my series on dumbbell exercises that every guy should deem worthy. Today’s exercise focuses on the biceps.

Cross Body Dumbbell Hammer Curl – Biceps
Grab a pair of dumbbells and, keeping your palms facing your body, curl the dumbbells one at a time across your body toward your opposite shoulder, making sure not to twist your arms.  Look to touch the top of the dumbbell to your shoulder before slowly lowering again to the starting position.  Try keeping your knees slightly bent with your chest up, and abs tight.  For those of you looking to add mass, this will quickly become a favorite.

Make sure not to curl too high, or you may push the tension away from your bicep.  If you haven’t performed the move before, try a lighter weight until you get the feel for it.  Try starting with 15-pounders and work your way through three sets of ten repetitions.

  1. I search for this dumbbell exercise because it means that that my muscles will grow when I get it.
