When people think of a powerful male physique, what typically comes to mind? Broad shoulders, biceps and a barrel chest, similar to those of the model in the picture to the right. While other muscles in the body are most certainly important to develop for strength, they are not what people tend to consider muscles that define a powerful man’s body. Development of these muscles takes hard work – and a lot of food for energy. The most popular muscles to develop are the shoulders, chest and biceps.
The biceps are among the hardest muscles to induce growth in; additional calories are a must. In order do induce muscular growth in the delts and pecs, heavy weight is just what the doctor ordered. For the biceps go for a little less weight with a higher volume of reps. Stick with basic exercises – keep it simple. No need to get fancy and no need for machines.
