Can Zinc Help You Beat a Cold?

man with a coldIt’s the winter. Cold season is on its way. At work, you can hear the caughing and sneezing and you see countless tissues filling the trash cans. Many Americans will turn to zinc for help. But does zinc really help? A recent article from the New York Times analyzes this very quesiton.

There has been much research through the years - over 100 studies, in fact, which have looked at zinc. Some have found zinc to be effective, and have proposed various reasons. But many more have found little or no evidence that it works. The bottom line: nobody knows. Everyone’s bodies react differently.

    I still prefer a good bowl of vegetable soup
    over any type of conventional medicine.
